The news was broken last month that National Floor Show was moving home to its new location of the NEC, Birmingham. After a lot of research the organisers believed it was the best time and place to move it to.

However did everyone get what they wanted? Is it the right move? Do you think the National Floor Show will still stay strong at the NEC and be more central to a worldwide audience? Will you be there next September 7-9 2010?

Lets hear your views.

Following last year’s well-received talk from Red or Dead founder Wayne Hemingway, Jeff will lead the 2009 programme and give an insight into his career. From helping set the fashion tone for 1960s London with the opening of Clobber, to presenting The Clothes Show for the BBC; Jeff has helped pave the way for British design for decades.

Jeff’s achievements span both fashion and interior design. From founding high street fashion giant Warehouse to working with some of the UK’s leading retailers such as Harvey Nichols and Harrods, he has continued to sustain his love of interiors and in recent years devoted his time to flooring design. Jeff’s various rug collections for National Floor Show exhibitors Asiatic Carpets, as well as his other attainments, make him well placed to give an insight into flooring design today.

A high profile figure within the industry for many years, he will give a seminar detailing his years in design and passion for interiors.

With the current economic crisis we begin to expect the unexpected, and with Floorstyle and Tile & Stone failing to tackle the current crisis, we begin to turn towards National Floor Show for survival. After joining partnership with kbb review expo, Floorstyle and Tile & Stone failed to survive the crisis that is hitting the economy world wide.

Dmg world media publishing and events director Patrick Taylor said:
“The economic downturn has hit this industry hard and it has become clear that potential exhibitors do not need the added strain of sustaining a 2009 London show. In the hundreds of conversations we’ve had, the vast majority of suppliers and manufacturers are saying they have made a strategic decision to not exhibit in London in 2009 and we respect and understand that.”

So where does this now put exhibitors in today’s flooring industry? Lets not forget National Floor Show 2009. With many exhibitors now asking question’s about the industry it is essential to ensure them that, with over 90 exhibitors signed up for the September show, National Floor Show continues to be the leading flooring event for the entire industry and will continue to hold its annual show on 8th – 10th September 2009. In order for National Floor Show to be an absolute success for 2009, the industry needs to be 100% behind the must attend flooring event of the year.

Whether you’re a visitor or exhibitor, National Floor Show is the only place you need to be this year.  Visit www.nationalfloorshow.co.uk for more information. Don’t miss out on this years must attend event for the entire flooring industry.

Have your say on the current events affecting the flooring industry today, what are your opinions on the collapse of Floorstyle and Tile & Stone? What are your thoughts for National Floor Show for 2009? Feel free to have your say.
